Of particular importance is the reference in the subtitle of the volume “complex times”, which refers to the world around us that is changing faster and faster, slowly at a speed incomprehensible to human reason, to the maelstrom of new systems, solutions, technology and globalization, to what almost sucks us in like a vortex, where it is easy to lose points of reference, stability and security. In this environment, values are particularly important, as they provide a handle, orientate and ultimately show a way out of chaos. The authors of the volume explore the issue of ethical leadership in very different fields, with very different cultural and personal backgrounds, from America, Germany, Hungary or Africa to local communities, focusing on church leaders or university courses. The examples and cases can be interesting scientifically, but also from the perspective of our personal lives.

Entry into the intermediate space of religion(2020) Siba Balázs; Valláspedagógiai és Pasztorálpszichológiai Tanszék; KRE - Hittudományi KarThere is an intermediate area of experiencing, to which inner reality and external life both contribute. Space in-between is a peculiar phenomenon, because we live in it without noticing it. It cannot be described, because the world present in it is in a blurred, half-formed stage, where inside and outside, the personal and collective, cannot be distinguished from each other. Religion (like art and culture in general) belongs to this intermediate space. In this study we investigate from anthropological and psychological point of view how rites help the believer to enter the intermediate space of religion. Van egy olyan átmeneti tere a tapasztalásnak, amelyben a belső realitás és a külső élet egyaránt formáló erő. A köztes tér sajátos jelenség, hiszen mindig benne élünk, mégsem „tudunk róla.” Megfoghatatlan, hiszen benne a valóság elmosódik, kiformálatlan valamiként létezik, melyben nem lehet szétválasztani a külsőt a belsőtől, a sajátot a közösségitől. A vallás (csakúgy, mint a művészet és a kultúra általában) ehhez az átmeneti térhez tartozik. E tanulmány vallásantropológiai és valláslélektani szempontok alapján a valóságnak a köztes terével foglalkozik és azzal, hogy a rítusok miként segítenek a vallás köztes terébe belépni.

Our faith grows not only in celebration or on Sunday, but also in everyday actions and habits from Monday through Saturday. The study deals with questions such as: Despite our good intentions, why is it so hard to achieve long-term changes in our lives? In what ways should we change in relation to our bad habits? How can God’s justification and sanctification play a role in our spiritual development?
